Budleigh Salterton

The beautiful seaside town on the Jurassic Coast has a two-mile long beach and vibrant town centre, so it’s a great place to visit or base yourself during a stay in East Devon.

It’s the sort of place you imagine when you think of a traditional English seaside escape; yet it’s also close enough to the rolling hills of the East Devon AONB that you get the best of both worlds.

There are excellent walks both inland and along a dramatic stretch of the South West Coast Path for those keen to explore. Inland, you can head along the River Otter to the village of Otterton.

Budleigh Salterton Beach has safe, clear waters ideal for swimming; with excellent facilities such as parking, cafés and toilets, it’s great for families.

There’s plenty more in the area for families to do too, with plenty of attractions in the area like the World of Country Life, Crealy Theme Park and The Donkey Sanctuary.
