The Whimple Heritage Centre is a small museum in the heart of Devon cider country.
For nearly 100 years, from 1891, the headquarters of Whiteway’s Cyder Company was in Whimple. A significant proportion of our collection is related to Whiteway’s and the history of cider-making more generally – including the famous Whimple Wassail. The displays relate mainly to the social history of Whimple during the twentieth century, with a small display about Whimple’s most well-known resident, Ann Hogarth, the Muffin the Mule puppeteer.
We are an entirely volunteer run organisation dedicated to preserving the history of Whimple for future generations.
This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund
