What to do in East Devon

East Devon is a beautiful part of the world. If you’re looking for things to do in East Devon you have a lot of choices. It features coastlines, countryside, villages, market towns, and the city of Exeter.

I’ve recently moved to East Devon and through these blog posts, I’ll be sharing my travels around the region. I’ll highlight what is great about the area so you too can enjoy what is on my doorstep.

There’s a section of the South West Coastal Path from Exmouth to Lyme Regis and the majority of the area is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Jurassic Coast is a UNESCO World Heritage site. East Devon beauty spots are some of the best in the world.

It’s a place with an abundant amount to do whatever time of the year you visit. If you’re after outdoor pursuits there are coastal and country walks, cycle rides, numerous water sports, such as paddle boarding and kayaking. Not forgetting the chance to soak up the natural world via forests, nature reserves, and animal parks.

For rainy days (yes we do get a few) there are inside attractions. You can explore historic buildings, learn new skills or create a new hobby. If you’re culturally inclined you can find museums and art galleries. A plethora of places all within a small radius. There’s no need to be stuck in the car for hours. There are plenty of options to spend a day out in East Devon.

It’s is an ideal place to celebrate those key moments in your life too. So whether you’re coming for a wedding, a significant birthday, an anniversary, or a huge family get-together, why not stay an extra couple of days and investigate what else this region has to offer?

In addition, there are year-round festivals that cater to all interests. Music, food and drink, art, and seasonal events are among some of the numerous options on offer.
