1. The Donkey Sanctuary – Easter Nature Trail: 2-24 April

As the weather improves the wildlife around the Donkey Sanctuary is waking from its slumber. Follow the Easter Nature Trail to discover what animals (besides donkeys) you can find living in the various habitats located across the land. Along the way, you can learn how encouraging biodiversity and maintaining these habitats and natural ecosystems helps to contribute to the health and well-being of the donkeys.

Find the habits around the sanctuary to reveal which animal lives there and use the stickers provided to match the animal with the habitat listed on the trail sheet. Once you’ve spotted them all head to The Shed to claim your prizes.

The activity costs £5 per trail and prizes include an Easter egg and a bag of seeds to create your own wildflower meadow at home.

2. World of Country Life, Exmouth – Easter activities 11-22 April

There’s a packed programme of daily activities this Easter holiday at World of Country Life. Choose from walking a goat, bottle feeding a lamb, hand feeding the red deer and llama, watching the Hawkridge Birds of Prey flying display, cheer on your favourite ferret at the Ferret Racing Total Wipeout, or cuddle a rabbit at animal handling.

Over the Easter weekend, there’ll also be special Easter arts and craft sessions and an Easter Egg Trail.

There are plenty of outdoor play areas like Harry the Harvester and the Tower of Slides as well as indoor soft play areas and the indoor Pirate Ship Adventure.

Open daily between 10am and 5pm. Tickets can be booked at the World of Country Life website.

3. Bear Town, Cullompton – EGGcellent fun: 9-24 April

The Easter Bunny has hidden eggs throughout Bear Town and needs your help to find them. Each child will receive a yummy Easter treat for helping out.

Bear Town is open daily.

4. Seaton Tramway – Easter Egg-Tram-Aganza: 15-18 April

Come along to the Seaton Tramway on Easter weekend for its free Easter Egg-Tram-Aganza. Children 15 and under can pick up a free activity sheet from Seaton or Colyton stations to find Gilbert the Station Master’s Goose and its Cheeky Chicks. Complete the sheet to win an Easter treat, redeemed from the Seaton or Colyton gift shop.

While the activity is free, it may be necessary to use the trams to find and collect all the answers.

5. Royal Albert Memorial Museum, Exeter – art and craft workshops: 14-21 April

A number of art and craft workshops are running over the Easter holidays at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum. These include:

Beautiful Beads: 14 & 21 April: 10.30am-3.30pm

The activity will include using patterned paper to make beads to compliment carved and colourful wooden examples. These will be threaded to make a bracelet, finished with a metal clasp.

The cost is £3.50 per child and is run as a drop-in session.

Roman Mosaic Art: 19 & 20 April: 10.30am-3.30pm

Help to create a Roman-style mosaic and make your own example to take home. For inspiration have a look at the museum’s Roman mosaic fragments, including part of the floor from a property on Catherine Street.

The cost is £3.50 per child and is run as a drop-in session.

6. Pecorama, Seaton – Easter Egg Hunt: 15-16 April

Solve the clues in the Easter egg hunt by finding hidden letters that are placed around Pecorama. Complete the word and claim your Easter egg. All visitors in fancy dress will be rewarded for their effort with a small gift.

7. Crealy Theme Park and Resort – Eggo-Saurus Dino Hunt: 9-24 April

There’ll be the opportunity to take part in a Jurassic adventure over the Easter holidays at Crealy Theme Park and Resort. A recent archaeological dig has unearthed huge bone structures, fossilised footprints, and mysterious large eggs. The park is looking for volunteers to discover the secret location of more Dino eggs across Crealy. Once you’ve found all locations collect your chocolatey reward from the Dinosaur HQ.
