The 18th Budleigh Music Festival has lunchtime and evening performances with ticket prices starting from £5.
Starting on 30 June 2023, the week-long event has a diverse programme with a great mix of musical styles.
A Choral workshop, featuring local singers and schoolchildren, will open the festival. Big hitters like BBC Radio 3 presenter, saxophonist Jess Gillam, and renowned jazz singer Jacqui Dankworth will perform alongside the Carducci Quartet.
You’ll also get the opportunity to hear Chopin’s 1st Piano Concerto played by Lara Melda, and Britten’s Serenade by James Gilchrist (Tenor) and Ben Goldscheider (Horn).
Other artists performing throughout the week include BBC Young Musician finalist Ethan Loch, an astonishing young pianist, blind since birth, and a fascinating collaboration, between Jennifer Pike (violin) Amaan & Ayaan Ali Bangash (sarod), and Anubrata Chatterjee (tabla). They will bring together a blend of Indian and European classical music.
Younger performers feature in the lunchtime concerts, many of whom are just starting their careers. Many other musicians have an international performing career.
The Budleigh Music Festival runs 30 June – 8 July 2023.
