Autumn Half-Term Activities in East Devon


The autumn half-term holiday is just a few weeks away and we’ve put together a list of some of the activities you can get up to with your family. There are plenty of pumpkin and Hallowe’en-related events throughout the region, aimed at all ages.

As usual please check with the organisers before you head out. Some require booking, others are free to attend.

Autumn Half-Term Activities in East Devon

1. Heron Farm: Pumpkin Trail: 22 – 30 October

2. Hallowe’en: Bear Town: 20 October – 2 November

3. Hide & Treat Hallowe’en Hunt: 4-31 October

4. Half-term Hallowe’en D’Minions Madness: World of Country Life: 24-30 October

5. Spook Fest: Crealy Theme Park & Resort: 22-30 October

6. Hallowe’en Pumpkins: The Bear Trail: 22-30 October

7. Family activities: Royal Albert Memorial Museum: 25-28 October

1. Heron Farm: Pumpkin Trail: 22 – 30 October

Navigate your way around Heron Farm to find hidden pumpkins, each with a clue to a mystery word. Once you’ve discovered this word meet back at the cafe to collect your prize. There’s a new lunch menu, Hallowe’en specials, and delicious autumn cocktails for the big kids too.

2. Hallowe’en: Bear Town: 20 October – 2 November

Have a spooktacular visit to Bear Town when you come along between 20 October and 2 November. Alongside the two-hour play session, there’ll be a Hallowe’en treasure hunt, Hallowe’en treats, and spooky dressing up. Only friendly ghosts have been invited. Suitable for children aged 1-7 years.

3. Hide & Treat Hallowe’en Hunt: The Donkey Sanctuary: 4-31 October

Do you dare to seek out the fang-tactic friends for a spookilious treat? The Donkey Sanctuary has hidden some specially made Hallowe’en Neddies around the site. But which of these fantastic friends is hidden where? Costs £5 per trail, including a treat on completion.

4. Half-term Hallowe’en D’Minions Madness: World of Country Life: 24-30 October

Soak up the magical atmosphere at the World of Country Life where staff turn into friendly witches casting spells of fun and laughter. There’ll be spooky Hallowe’en activities including pumpkin carving, a fang-tastic Hallowe’en trail, and the D’Minions family show.

5. Spook Fest: Crealy Theme Park & Resort: 22-30 October

The Spook Fest is back at Crealy with new attractions spookier than ever. Activities include Sounds of the Wilderness, a witch’s immersive tale, Escape the Creaky Hotel, The Spooky Street Circus, the Scarecrow Scare Maze, and Buddy and Blossom’s Hallowe’en Bash.

6. Hallowe’en Pumpkins: The Bear Trail: 22-30 October

The Bear Trail is getting a Hallowe’en makeover this half-term. Enter if you dare….

All children can collect a complimentary treat and certificate upon completing the trail. Choose between morning or afternoon, three-hour sessions. The trail is open daily during the school holidays and weekends.

7. Family activities: Royal Albert Memorial Museum: 25-28 October

There’s a host of different activities for children to enjoy at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter. Choose from making a stethoscope, spending time with the skeleton crew to explore the museum after hours or step inside the Explorer Dome and embark on a journey inside the human body.
