Ottery St Mary Carnival

Ottery St Mary Carnival takes place on Saturday 16 October 2026, bringing an evening of illuminated floats, costumed entries and processions through the heart of the town.

Part of the East Devon illuminated carnival circuit, the carnival is organised by the Ottery St Mary Carnival Committee and draws crowds from across the region for an evening of colour, light and community spirit. Once part of the town’s Bonfire Night celebrations, the carnival is now held separately from the famous Tar Barrels, which take place a few weeks later on 5 November.

Expect packed streets, decorated floats and a real carnival atmosphere as Ottery St Mary lights up for the night.
