Sidmouth Folk Festival

Since 1955, Sidmouth Folk Festival has brought folk music, dance and song to the East Devon coast, and it’s still going strong. It’s a week-long, immersive gathering woven through the whole town, from the seafront marquee at The Ham to intimate indoor venues, with concerts, ceilidhs, storytelling, workshops and a strong sense of shared tradition running through it all.

Tens of thousands of visitors come every August, but it never loses that participative, community feel. The festival also offers solid access, with venue-by-venue accessibility information and assistive listening technology available at principal venues.

It’s one of the longest-running folk festivals in Britain, and a real highlight of the East Devon summer.
