East Devon Soul Festival

Seaton has always been the quiet one between Lyme Regis and Sidmouth, but it’s home to some brilliant underused spaces just waiting for a new lease of life. East Devon Soul Festival brings them to life with music, culture and community spirit, drawing people into the town to explore its shops, cafes and streets.

It’s designed to be  inclusive, giving local musicians a stage, opening up volunteering and training opportunities, and welcoming everyone from families to first-time festival-goers.

Rather than build anything new, the festival reimagines spaces Seaton already has:

• Seaton Tramway becomes a 500-capacity venue
• The Old Picturehouse Cinema hosts global funk
• The Hideaway Cafe brings late-night house and drum and bass
• Tide Cafe puts on balcony performances over the beach

Getting there sustainably

Electric trams, gas buses from Axminster, and tuk-tuks connect nearby villages, with VIP perks for anyone arriving by bike or on foot. The festival also supports EarthPercent, with artists donating a share of their fee to environmental causes.
