Event Information

Get ready to LOL at nature’s funniest moments! Seaton Tramway is hosting the internationally acclaimed Comedy Wildlife Photography Exhibition featuring side-splitting, heart-warming and thought-provoking images from around the world.

Founded in 2015 by wildlife photographer Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE, the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards celebrate the lighter side of the animal kingdom while raising awareness of conservation issues. From clumsy lions to mischievous monkeys, this exhibition shows the humour, character and humanity of wildlife in a way that connects us all.

But there’s more to these funny shots than just comedy. The awards use the language of laughter to engage people with the need for wildlife conservation. Every funny face, awkward pose and well-timed snap helps us empathise with the creatures we share our planet with, and reminds us why we need to protect their future.

What You’ll See
A curated collection of the world’s funniest wildlife photographs from the annual global competition

Stunning images across categories, including mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, junior and young photographers, video clips and more

About the Competition
The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards has become a major fixture in the photography calendar, receiving thousands of entries from both novices and professionals worldwide. Each year, the competition highlights the lighter side of wildlife while supporting conservation projects through its partnership with the Whitley Fund for Nature, to which it donates 10% of net revenue annually.

Photos for sale
The finalists’ photos are available for purchase. Proceeds from the competition help raise funds for the Whitley Fund for Nature, which has already invested over £20 million in conservation projects across 80 countries. Once the exhibition opens, you can secure your favourite photo at the museum! You’ll be able to take your purchased photo(s) home once the exhibition ends (19th of April ’26).
