As evening falls, East Devon’s skies come alive. From village cricket clubs to manor house grounds, community groups across the area are putting on firework displays this autumn, many of them raising money for local causes. Here’s where to catch them.

The season opens with a village display on the edge of Honiton, a short hop from the A30.
Sunday 1 November
Bridwell Community Bonfire & Fireworks Celebration
Now in its sixth year, Bridwell’s celebration runs from 5pm to 9pm with a fire show, live band, food and drink stalls and a traditional bonfire, finishing with a musical fireworks display from Sonic Fireworks. Last entry is 6.15pm, the bonfire is lit at 6.30pm and the fireworks start at 7pm. Tickets must be bought in advance, as there are no sales on the night.
Friday 6 November
Exmouth RNLI Fireworks
Exmouth’s biggest display of the year is run entirely by volunteers, and every ticket helps fund training and kit for the town’s lifeboat crew.
Exminster Scouts Fireworks Extravaganza
A long-standing local favourite, raising funds for Exminster Scout Group.
Saturday 7 November
Fireworks at Whimple Cricket Club
A village display in the heart of Whimple, set against the cricket ground.
Fireworks at Sidbury Manor, near Sidmouth
Set in the grounds of Sidbury Manor in the Sid Valley, this volunteer-run bonfire and fireworks night has been raising money for charity since 1997.
Displays can change at short notice because of the weather, so check with each organiser before you set off. Wrap up warm, wear sturdy shoes and enjoy the show.
