Half day workshop to learn the exciting challenge of creating form – light and shadow – using a still life object, e.g. a fruit.
The process will be broken down into easy stages, developing your skills of seeing through creating an illusion of form, establishing the principles and techniques for painting in the classical style, all transferable to landscape and portraiture.
Come away from the workshop with a collection of painted works, along with the knowledge to create a still life painting, including techniques of mixing oil paints to create colour using grey scale, plus some key tools to encourage you to continue (eg. canvas pad, palette knife)
All materials and equipment included. Please do bring a notebook, a camera and an apron if you have one.
Examples and references will be on hand to stimulate you!
Suitable for beginners and those with experience wishing to refresh their observational skills.
This session will be a welcoming space to express yourself and experiment in a supportive environment.
