Rainbow activity trail

A trail suitable for pre-school aged children

Follow the colours of the rainbow through Seaton Wetlands and take part in exciting activities at each point along the trail.

Hunt for natural colours and shapes, stop and listen to the sounds of the Nature Reserve, tip-toe over bridges trying not to disturb the Troll beneath.

Engage preschool aged children with their wild surroundings.

Starts at the car park at Seaton Wetlands.

Short sections of the trail are not unsuitable for buggies, however, buggies can be left near-by.

The trail can be stopped and restarted at any point to suit little legs! The trail is self-guided so bring a picnic and do the trail as many times as you would like.

Beautiful bugs rubbings trail

Collect rubbings and find out interesting facts about the world of bugs

Armed with a wax crayon and trail map, collect rubbings and find out interesting facts about the world of bugs at Seaton Wetlands.

Small sections of the trail are not suitable for buggies, however, buggies can be left near-by.

Trail starts at the Lookout during the week and the Discovery Hut at weekends (10am to 4pm daily)

Join qualified Tai Chi instructor, Sam Forder at Seaton Wetlands for a unique Tai Chi experience.

This taster session will introduce the concepts and benefits of practising Tai Chi.

Tai Chi is an excellent exercise for the whole body, and practicing in the outdoor environment can enhance our connection to nature.

Practicing Tai Chi can strengthen our immune system, whilst also putting a large emphasis on improving the bodies’ energy system.

An introductory session can be the first step for both new and returning students, and could lead to further practice for those who find a new passion in this exercise.

The session will include a variety of warm-up exercises and both Qigong and Tai Chi movements.

No specific clothing required.

Any fitness level and age welcome.

No dogs please.

If the weather is poor the class will take place in the Reed Base.

Relax and learn to handle busy times at Seaton Wetlands

Katherine has recently returned to East Devon after running her own meditation retreat in Brittany, France.

Experienced in teaching groups of all sizes, these mindfulness meditation classes will enable you to learn the basics and take home some quick-fix tips for handling stressful or busy times.

This class will take place in the pond dipping shelter, if the weather is poor it will take place in the Reed Base.

The class is suitable for wheelchairs and those with limited lower body movement as can be conducted on a chair.

Discover the wonders of the night sky at Trinity Hill

Wrap-up warm and discover the wonders of the night sky at Trinity Hill Local Nature Reserve, an official Dark Skies Discovery Site.

Enjoy hot chocolate and popcorn around the campfire cooked by the Countryside rangers whilst a volunteer from the Norman Lockyer Observatory points out stars and planets in the night sky.

Bring a seat and a blanket and sit around the campfire.
