Join expert guides for What’s that bird? in the hides and learn to identify birds in view, with our binoculars available to borrow:

See a replica of the skull of Dippy the Diplodocus dinosaur fossil from the Natural History Museum.

Enjoy Dino craft activities in the Reed Base.

Outdoor meditation

Learn to meditate outdoors 6pm to 8pm.
Join local instructor, Katherine Bolton in the peaceful wildlife garden at Seaton Wetlands for an evening of mindfulness and meditation.

Learn basic meditation skills and take home some quick-fix tips for handling stressful or busy times.

If poor weather the class will take place in the Reed Base Classroom.

Please bring a mat/ towel to sit on and wear comfortable loose fitting clothes.

Explore the wildlife of the river Axe by canoe
Enjoy a guided trip down the river Axe discovering the area’s wonderful wildlife from the river!

Led by qualified instructors from the Axe Vale Canoe Club with wildlife commentary from the Countryside Rangers.

No experience necessary, must be 8+ and able to swim 25m.

Willow Sunflowers Hearts & Dragonflies, 10am to 4pm

Make willow crafts with Windrush Willow
Aimed at beginners, Richard an expert from Windrush Willow will guide you through making a wide range of items.

Try making hearts, bird feeders, sunflowers, dragonflies, snails and random weave balls out of willow!

Please bring an apron, notepad and packed lunch.

Cost includes all willow materials, expert tuition and hot drinks throughout the day.

You will go home with at least 3 items.

The class takes place in the peaceful Reed Base classroom in the heart of the Seaton Wetlands Nature Reserve.

A FREE mud walk as part of Exmouth Festival
As part of Exmouth Festival the Countryside team are running two free mud walks!

Discover what is living in the mud of the Exe Estuary.

Dig for worms, search for crabs and shells and fish for shrimps.

Wear wellies or old shoes that can get very wet and muddy.

Not suitable for wheelchairs or buggies.

Children must be accompanied.
